Traditional (Hellenistic)
Aries is the Sun's place of exaltation, where the older authors say the light is honored and given strength beyond its own house. The Sun here works through Mars-ruled cardinal fire: initiating, hot, quick to act. Ptolemy ties the exaltation to the lengthening days after the spring equinox. The gift is leadership and nerve; the working cost is impatience with anything slow.
