Moon Opposition Sun

Modern

You feel the constant pull between what you want and what you need, and you may meet that split first in relationships, drawn to people who carry the side of you that you do not. Early on it swings, head then heart then back. The work is the balance point where both are honored at once. People with this aspect grow remarkably aware. At your best you hold both poles and help others do the same.

Traditional (Hellenistic)

When the Sun and Moon stand a hundred and eighty degrees apart the tradition marks the Full Moon, the lights in fullest mutual regard. Purpose and need confront each other as equal and opposite, a pull often projected onto relationships. Ptolemy counts the opposition among the configurations of tension. The gift is awareness, completeness, and the capacity to hold two truths; the cost is a swing between the poles and conflict carried into partnership.
