Modern
Recognition and easy self-expression do not come free here: you may hold back, doubt your worth, or feel you must prove you deserve the spotlight. Traditional (Hellenistic)
Leo is Saturn's detriment, opposite his Aquarius house, in the Sun's fixed fire. The older authors say a planet in detriment works far from home, here the cold planet of restraint set against the warm wish for recognition and play: confidence and creative authority that must be earned, not assumed. This is a redirection, not a defect: the native builds real authority slowly. The gift is hard-earned, durable self-respect and responsible leadership; the cost is a blocked spontaneity and a hunger for approval that fears it will not come.
