Positions
Mars in Cancer
Modern
Your energy is tied to your feelings and your people: you will defend a loved one with surprising ferocity, but direct confrontation for yourself feels harder, so anger often comes out sideways. The growth is saying the want plainly instead of sulking or guilt-tripping. At your best you are the one who fights for the family when it counts.
Traditional (Hellenistic)
Cancer is Mars's fall, the Moon's cardinal-water domicile, so the direct malefic works at a disadvantage to his nature: anger that goes indirect, defense of home and kin rather than open attack. This is a redirection, not a defect: force protecting what it loves. The gift is fierce loyalty and the courage to defend others; the cost is a moody, passive-aggressive edge when the feeling cannot come out straight.
Lean in — Say the anger or the want straight, not sideways.
Watch for — Let a feeling leak out as a mood instead of a sentence.
- protective
- loyal
- indirect
