Traditional (Hellenistic)
When the Sun and Saturn occupy the same degree, the day-star takes on the nature of the cold, dry malefic: a serious, responsible self that feels it must earn its place. The older authors note the Sun pressed by Saturn as a burdened light, and a planet too near the Sun can be combust. The gift is discipline, endurance, and authority built to last; the cost is heaviness, self-doubt, and a joy deferred until the work is done.
