Traditional (Hellenistic)
The twelfth is the cadent place the tradition calls the Bad Spirit, the joy of Saturn, governing solitude, the hidden, and the unseen. Venus here gives a private, secret, or selfless love: affection kept hidden, pleasure found in solitude or the spiritual, a tendency to love quietly or to sacrifice. The tradition reads it as the most obscure place, not the worst. The gift is a compassionate, unconditional, transcendent love; the cost is hidden affections, secret loves, and giving without return.
