The wound around unconditional love tends to come at you through the people you love. You may draw in those who cannot accept themselves or you, become the one who loves the unlovable, or find that close bonds re-open the old hurt of conditional love. There can be a back-and-forth of who is accepted and who does the accepting. The work is to keep the wound from running it: notice when you give endless acceptance to earn love, let others accept you too, and bring the bond into balance, so love heals both rather than restaging the original conditionality.
