Aspects
Chiron Square Pholus
The wound around release and the catalytic urge keep grinding against each other, keeping an old hurt close to the surface, perhaps a release that caused harm, a family eruption you were caught in, or a fear of the scale of what you might set off. This square will not let the wound stay buried, it pushes you to do something with it. The way through is active: tend the hurt honestly, learn to release contained material with care and timing rather than fear or recklessness, and let the pain become wisdom for helping others open safely, rather than a groove you keep falling into.
Lean in — Learn to release with care and timing, and tend the old hurt.
Watch for — Swing between fearful sealing and reckless eruption.

- Forrest, The Inner Sky (1988)Reads the contact in evolutionary terms, as a wound whose release can become healing.
- Hand, Horoscope Symbols (1981)Treats the contact of release and the old wound as a healing dynamic within the chart.
