The wound around abuse and betrayal tends to come at you through other people. You may draw in those wounded by harm who need help healing, become the one who tends the betrayed, or find that close bonds re-open your own old wound around violation or broken trust. There can be a back-and-forth of who is harmed and who heals. The work is to keep the wound from running it: notice when you give everything to heal others while neglecting yourself, set boundaries that keep you safe, and bring the dynamic into balance, so the healing mends both rather than restaging the harm.
