Canopus

Canopus

Canopus, the second-brightest star in the sky near 15 degrees of Cancer, was the great navigator's star of the keel. Robson ties it to voyages, leadership, piety, and a change from evil to good. Brady reads it as the pilot who steers by a distant light, the journey that transforms. It carries the dignity of one who travels far and brings something back, with a steadying, paternal authority.
