Void of Course Moon

The Moon is void of course during the stretch between its last major aspect in one sign and its move into the next sign. It is a familiar daily pause: a good time to rest, finish, and reflect, and a poor time to start something new.

Modern

As the Moon travels through a sign it makes a series of aspects to the planets. After its final aspect, it coasts the rest of the way through that sign without making another, until it crosses into the next one. That gap is what astrologers call void of course. The old observation is that things begun while the Moon is void tend to drift, stall, or come to nothing, so it is read as a low-traction window. It happens often, sometimes for only a few minutes, sometimes for hours, and there is nothing unlucky about it. It is simply a good time for routine, rest, and wrapping things up, rather than for launches and big decisions.

Traditional (Hellenistic)

In A branch of astrology that answers a specific question from a chart cast for the moment it is asked. The chart itself holds the answer. and The branch of astrology that picks the best moment to begin something, like a wedding or a launch. The aim is to start under supportive skies. astrology the void of course Moon was a clear rule of timing. Lilly and his peers held that with the Moon void, the matter at hand would seldom prosper, and they advised against beginning anything of importance until she had entered a new sign and resumed her aspects.
