Traditional (Hellenistic)
The grand trine joins three bodies by the most harmonious of the Ptolemaic aspects, all in signs of a single element. The tradition reads it as a gift: the matters the three bodies signify support one another and flow without struggle. The caution the authors imply, and that later writers make explicit, is that what comes easily is rarely pressed into achievement. A closed triangle can circulate its own ease and never spend it. Fire flows as enthusiasm, earth as competence, air as ideas, water as feeling.
